The Moffatts Reunion and Farewell Tour Southeast Asia
Canadian boyband The Moffatts is aiming to do a reunion concert in Jakarta, Bali and Singapore in February, Singapore-based event management company Flabbergast Productions announced on Friday (14/10/2016).
I Heart Radio in Canada has announced that The Moffatts will perform on Feb. 18 at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Phillippines. As for Indonesia, they will perform at Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta on 19 February and on February 24, they will greet the fans at Hard Rock Cafe Bali.
The Moffatts are Scott Andrew Moffatt (lead vocal, guitar) and triplets Clinton Thomas John Moffatt (bass), Robert Franklin Peter Moffatt (drum) and David Michael William Moffatt (lead vocal, keyboards). Frank Moffatt, band manager and father of the siblings, told I Heart Radio that Dave is now a yoga instructor in Canada and he will not be joining the reunion.
“He doesn’t feel music aligns with his personal beliefs and values at this time,” he said.
The Moffatts started out as a country band and then rose to fame with hit singles “If Life is So Short” and “Miss You Like Crazy,” taken from their debut, pop rock album “Chapter 1: A New Beginning” in 1998. The band contributed their song “Until You Loved Me” in the original soundtrack of “Never Been Kissed,” a movie starring Drew Barrymore. Their final album, “Submodalities,” was released in 2000 with hit single “Bang Bang Boom.”
The group announced a hiatus in 2001 and never reunited to release another album ever again. Scott, the eldest of the siblings, continues his own journey by joining another band, The Boston Post, and then later, becoming a solo artist. Clint and Bob, identical twins, worked together for a pop band called Same Same. Now, the two are known as a country performing act called Endless Summer.
