DENPASAR – Bali provincial government is preparing a budget of IDR 1 billion for cultural parade to enliven the IMF-World Bank meetings. The activity resembles the parade of the Bali Arts Festival (BAF) posing the request from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. It happens because the president familiarly addressed as Jokowi admitted to get impressed with the BAF parade.
“The governor has disposition to prepare a budget of IDR 1 billion,” said the Head of Bali Culture Agency, Dewa Putu Beratha, after the Plenary Meeting for the Preparation of the 40th BAF in Denpasar on Tuesday (Jun. 5). However, continued Beratha, the initiative of the president for the parade is still being discussed by the National Organizing Secretariat in the Ministry of Finance and will be coordinated with the IMF because the whole schedules of the IMF-World Bank meetings are made by the IMF.
“Our final coordination result is still being discussed. However, we are in Bali still prepares for this is request of the president,” he explained. Beratha added the parade materials are still undetermined whether it will feature local wisdom of the Rambut Sedana in accordance with the IMF-World Bank. Alternatively, it can display the Panca Yadnya (five sacrifices) suc as Manusa Yadnya (marriage), Dewa Yadnya (parade), Pitra Yadnya (cremation) and others. “Later, we will discuss with Cultural Advisory Council (Listibya) and the team if there is certainty. Hopefully, we get certainty as soon as possible,” he added.
Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika, said the parade at the IMF-World Bank meeting is an opportunity to more actively show off Balinese art and culture to the world. Location of the parade can be done around Renon, Denpasar or Nusa Dua becoming the venue of the meeting. “Most likely it will be held in Nusa Dua but it means the scale is smaller because it cannot be done like in Renon. It will depend, if it will be attended, for example, by all delegates amounting to 15.000, it can be done in Renon”, he said.
